Hi, I'm Uttam

I’m a long established Independent Optician in Whitton who will tell you what you need to know now so you can keep living the life you love for years to come.

We are a local, family run opticians focused on improving the visual quality of life for our patients

I believe in putting my patients needs above turning huge profits and that starts with helping you

  • Understand: In clear language what is happening to your vision
  • Improve: Giving you simple, clear instructions to follow to improve your vision
  • Prevent: Lifestyle changes to prevent further deterioration of your vision

I am a fully registered Optometrist for private and NHS patients and a member of  the General Optical Council, the Association of Optometrists and a member of the Local Optical Committee.

I specialise in helping people that have been let down by their opticians or feel like they have not been listened to.

The majority of my patients are:

Young Children:

Can pose difficulty in testing as they may or may not fully understand the test, or may struggle to sit still. Patience is necessary to ensure a good result. We book children with longer than average test times so that we can spend the required time to thoroughly examine their vision to ensure accurate results.

Complex Requirements:

The majority of my patients have complex prescriptions or have had issues elsewhere which cannot be resolved. They come for a second or more thorough opinion to understand the issue.

I spend approximately 45 minutes with my complex patients for an eye exam. This ensures a thorough examination and accurate results.

Elderly Patients:

I spend approximately 45 minutes with my Elderly patients for their eye examination to ensure they are not rushed, and given ample time to get an accurate result.

Each test includes a part dedicated to understanding the types of activity and lifestyle a patient enjoys to ensure any recommendations will best help their lifestyle.

Office Workers:

Using VDU equipment can present unique challenges for office workers. As part of the eye examination I test specific distances to ensure a perfect fit solution for each and every patient.

Contact Lens Patients:

Typically these consultations are rushed with limited options presented to the patient. I provide a thorough consultation to examine the variety of different contact lens options that are available to ensure the best solution for each patient.

Dry Eyes:

Due to the almost constant use of screen technology (TV, computers, tablets, mobile phones, etc) dry eyes is particularly common. However, large retail stores with short 10-20 minute eye examinations do not allow time for examination of the external parts of the eyes. I provide a full external examination during each eye test and offer advice and solutions for improving dry eyes and Blepharitis.
